New Testament
New Testament consists of three 160 minute sessions that investigate the history and teaching of the New Testament. In this subject, we look at the who’s who of Israel, the message of the gospels, and what life was like for the early Christian community.

Session 1
In this segment of Café Theologica, Nathain Secker is speaking with David Thurston, minister at Central Sydney Presbyterian and Peter Moore, a lecturer in Theology at the Presbyterian Theological Centre in Sydney. Together they consider the background context of the New Testament at the time of its writing, including the people and powers of the time.
Session 2
In this segment of Café Theologica, Nathain Secker is speaking with David Thurston and Jill Patterson, a university student in Sydney. Together they explore the nature, purpose and authorship of the gospels. They look in depth at the gospel of Mark in particular.
Session 3
In this segment of Café Theologica, Nathain Secker is speaking with David Thurston, Peter Moore and Jill Patterson. They begin by exploring the birth and growth of the early church in the book of Acts. They also discuss some of the struggles faced by the church, by looking at Corinthians, and responses to the persecution of Christians in 1 Peter.
