Christian Belief consists of three 160 minute sessions that investigate the basics and substance of Christian Belief. Each session takes us through important doctrines such as the place of Christian Belief, Jesus, God, the Holy Spirit and the Church.

Session 1

In this segment of Café Theologica, Nathain Secker is speaking with David Thurston, minister at Central Sydney Presbyterian, Peter Moore, a lecturer in Theology at the Presbyterian Theological Centre in Sydney, and Karen Astles, who has been involved in youth ministry for many years. Together they explore the way in which we should understand Christian doctrine and belief and discuss the role of God as Creator and humanity’s place in creation.

Session 2

In this segment of Café Theologica, Nathain Secker is speaking with David Thurston, Mark Adams, minister at the New Life Presbyterian Church in Gungahlin, and Jenny Bolton, mother of two. Together they explore the concept of the Church as a community of Believers throughout the Old and New Testament and investigate Jesus Christ, his role as Messiah and the Church’s relationship to him.

Session 3

In this segment of Café Theologica, Nathain Secker is speaking with David Thurston, Peter Currie, minister at Woonoona Presbyterian Church, and Jenny Bolton. They begin by exploring the person of the Holy Spirit throughout the Bible and his place in our Church today. They also discuss the concept of the Trinity, comparing it with other views of who God is and how it relates to our daily lives.
